Back Behind The Camera & Ready To Shoot
It feels good to be getting back to what I love. Over the past 2 years I have struggled to feel inspired and confident enough to shoot. It's been quite the journey I've been on to physical and emotional wellness, but I wasn't about to give up. The art of photography really speaks to my love of insightful observation and the beauty of diversity. The in-between moments are the ones we often forget.
I recently ran into my friend Gary, owner and artist at Ascension Ink, here in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. We probably would have seen each other more often had I spent more time at the studio my pal was running just across the street from Gary's shop on Queen Street, but alas I have spent more time worrying about not shooting over the past year than I have actually shooting anything. Thank goodness for good friends because when I asked Gary to come in for a portrait session the next week he didn't hesitate to jump on the opportunity. A week later I'd like to think we both walked out of the studio feeling the warm and fuzzies of stepping out of our comfort zones and creating something beautiful and unique together.
